2010 Conference Session Proposal Form

Sessions that qualify for CM credit will be given preference; however, we will be accepting a small number of sessions that are not CM eligible, to accommodate sessions from all tracks.

This below form will help APA Minnesota and APA obtain CM credits for your session, and we appreciate your diligent attention and completion of details in the below form. APA National will review session proposals to determine their eligibility. Sessions eligible for CM credit will:

  • Meet a specific planning-related training objective
  • Teach subject matter at a level beyond a planner with two years of experience
  • Be led by one or more experts on the subject
  • Be non-promotional in nature
  • Communicate a clearly identified educational purpose
  • Legal training must relate to recently enacted planning laws or recent case decisions
  • Ethics training must focus on training planners on the standards of ethical behavior according to the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

The APA Minnesota conference program committee will use the below, weighted criteria to select proposals.

  1. Timeliness
  2. Relevance to planning (X2)
  3. Originality (X2)
  4. Draw and hold attention
  5. Well-defined focus (X2)
  6. Geographic diversity of speakers
  7. CM qualified

AVI Information

Session rooms will be equipped with a laptop, projector and screen. Please come equipped with presentation to be loaded on the laptop. Handouts of your presentation are also strongly encouraged (Copy services at the conference center will not be provided).

PowerPoint Usage & Copyright Permission

All speakers submit their PowerPoint presentations to our conference administrators. APA Minnesota will make some of these presentations available to conference registrants after the conference by syncing the PowerPoint presentation with recorded session audio. Presentations must follow U.S. copyright laws. APA Minnesota assumes no liability for speakers' copyright compliance.

APA Minnesota may publish this work and distribute it worldwide in electronic media, including on APA Minnesota's web site. APA Minnesota may not edit or abbreviate this work, and I understand that it may be included in compilations with other Planning Conference sessions.
